Japan to Reallocate UHF, VHF Frequencies to Wireless Broadband

With plans to shift all analog broadcasting to digital broadcasting, the Japanese government will halt usage of UHF and VHF bands for analog broadcast after 2011. The abandoned broadcast frequencies will be used for the wireless and broadband transmission in next-generation intelligent transport system.
